The Importance of Staying Positive in Life

“A quitter never wins, and a winner never quits.” — Napoleon Hill

I have been a bit skeptical about this kind of talk, like

“If you think positively and strongly believe that something will happen to you, it will.”

Although, after reading several great productivity books about this topic and actually trying it myself, I realized that these thoughts could make a positive impact in our life.

In the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Stephen Covey tells us that we should “Begin with the end in mind”. He says that we can use our imagination to get a clear vision of our goals and set the values that can lead us to achieve those goals.

In the book Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill describes a similar approach where we should keep in our minds what are the specific goals that we want to achieve, when do we want them, and what we will do to make them happen. He emphasizes that to be successful, we should be very persistent in our plans.

By applying this positive thinking and having in our subconscious what we want to achieve, I believe that there are higher chances that our everyday decisions drive us toward that goal we defined, even if we don’t realize it.

Additionally, if we think positively and ask ourselves this question:

“How will I achieve this?”

We will feel better, find more solutions, and get closer to our goals.

At the same time, we should eliminate negative thoughts such as “This is not possible to do!” or “There is no way I can have that!”.

I have recently viewed an interview with Warren Buffet on Yahoo Finance. He is one of the best investors in the world. And he said that “You will have a better experience in life if you see the positive sides of things”.

And when asked about the key for his success, he answered:

“Do what you love to do with people you love, every day.”

So, find your goals, set a plan to accomplish them, be persistent, and always be positive!

Thanks for reading!
